I am a Model-T Ford. You can call me "T" for short. This is my auto-biography. Get that?
An AUTO-biography! I've had a lot of adventures in my long life; lots of owners, lots of good times, and a few not-so-good times. But all in all, it's been a fine life.
It started in 1920. Maybe 1921. I forget. But it was a very long time ago. I rolled off Mister Henry Ford's assembly line bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and spanking-shiny new. I was jet black and polished to a high gloss. I had a running board and a spare tire, and real leather seats. Oh, I was a handsome fellow, just waiting for somebody to buy me and start me on a life of excitement. I was going places!
T: An Auto-Biography is a charming, adventurous, imaginative read that gently weaves in a bit of history. What a fun way to learn about America’s early cars and lifestyle. Parents will find the saga of "T" equally engaging as they read aloud to their child or snuggle up to listen as their young reader recites the account.

BOOK REVIEWS:
Take an amazing journey through America's history beginning with the birth of the Model-T Ford in the early 1920's and continuing on to the present during epic times of growth and change in America. To take the reader on this fabulous journey is T, a witty, amiable Model-T Ford, who relays his life's journey, from transportation for a doctor who makes house calls, to a family car, on to a delivery car for a grocery store, as a race car, and more. Along the way, T meets exciting historical figures and has some amazing adventures. A wonderful book to be enjoyed by parents and children alike, and a must-have for every home, school and library.
In this delightful romp through the twentieth century, Feather Schwartz Foster gives us an adventurous ride in a Model T and a history lesson full of fun and facts.
We first meet T when he is purchased brand-spanking-new by a small-town doctor, but that's just the beginning. T changes hands several times in his life, each time experiencing lots of new and exciting adventures as America changes and grows through the years.
T is sometimes a pleasure vehicle, other times a working auto and even does a stint in a demolition derby. He makes loads of friends, meets fascinating and important people and has a few misadventures along the way.
This is a great book for teaching children a bit of American history while entertaining them with the fun and follies of the affable "T" as he travels through the century.

“Feather Schwartz Foster has written a delightful tale about the life of a Model-T. Yes, it is truly an "auto-biography." It begins with T's birth when he rolls out of the Ford factory to become transportation for a family doctor. They travel together mending broken bones and delivering babies. The story continues to follow T's adventure through his many reincarnations from family car to demolition derby. His final appearance is surprising and heart warming.”
“From the moment "T" (that's short for Model-T Ford) rolls off of "Mr. Ford's assembly line" until he gets rescued from a junk heap by his first
owner's great-grandchildren,
"'T' An Auto-Biography dishes up a lot of educational fun. Not only does Feather Schwartz
Foster give a detailed
description of the appearance and workings of a Model-T Ford, but as the car passes through time and changes owners, Foster also presents
entertaining bits of American history throughout her 68-page book.”

“Along the way the child will learn about life and the times from when Model T's roamed the streets. The doctor makes house calls—even performing an appendectomy on one occasion. Many babies were born at home at that time. The Great Depression was felt as fewer cars were driven and T was stolen. The World War II rationing had an effect on T as well. His owner at the time, Peggy Mahoney, car pooled with some other girls. Of course T remembers when the good doctor delivered Peggy. Thus the child reads about not only a famous car in history but also the society as it evolved with the automobile.”

“Feather Schwartz Foster delivers yet another inspired romp through history, this time with a Model-T Ford as the narrator and star of the show.
Geared for the younger audience, T will be enjoyed by young and old alike for many years to come. This is the type of story we want to read to our children and grandchildren, and one they’ll keep asking for.”
